Tone Row Fun House - Matthew Paine

This quirky piece is made up 7 seperate VCV Rack patches. There is a patch for drums (top left), chords (bottom left), bass (bottom centre), Short B section (centre right), C section (bottom left), Melody (top centre right), short melodic fills (centre).
The music may initially sound like it's rooted in some kind of jazz, but all the notes in this piece stem from a 'tone row' that uses a 12 tone techniques that I messed around with at music school.

Channel Description:

This channel has new original material uploaded on a fortnightly basis (sometimes weekly). Mainly VCV Rack projects varying from small ideas and experiments to larger scale works. Spatial Composition/Spatial Audio:___ I developed an interest in spatial composition around 2018 when introduced to the works of Henry Brant. My interest in this obscure form of music exploration grew and became the focus of my masters degree. This resulted in a spatial composition album in Dolby Atmos named ‘Locus’ and a thesis on the topic and project. You can find the album with the link below

Short Bio:___Matthew Paine is a music composer/producer and musician based in Melbourne, Australia. Matthew has a background in creating original music for independent film and media. A notable example is his music for the Melbourne International Fashion Film Festival Winner (2021), Anna Cordell Fashion Film. Matthews' musical career has weaved in and out of experimental, commercial, and academic worlds, having completed a master’s degree in music composition (2022) with a focus on spatial composition and spatial audio. These studies resulted in his 2023 Album, Locus: a large scale ambient work for Dolby Atmos systems.
Matthew currently works as a freelance film and media composer, and has an ongoing solo project that blends his interest in orchestral music, electronic music, and jazz.
