Hi, everyone, Adam, with etrailer.com.Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Aries rocker steps, and this is going to be a custom fit for our 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.So these rocker panels are going to be a great addition to your Jeep. It's going to give you a really aggressive look and just take you away from that OEM feel.The step portion of these rockers are about three inches wide, so it makes it pretty comfortable just sitting here on the driver's seat, putting my feet on and just relaxing a little bit.As you can see here, we do have a pretty cool powder-coated finish to it. It is going to differentiate from our OEM look here. A lot of the times when you get these from the factory, all your rockers would match. But to be honest, I really do like the look and finish of this rocker.So in comparing these to the OEM steps that sometimes come with these Jeeps, we have holes here. And what that's going to do, It's going to allow that water just to seep through there, a lot of the times it's just a straight plastic piece that comes out and all that water is kind of puddle up and make it a little bit more slippery.
With this more gritty feel to it and these holes, I think we're going to have to have maximum traction getting in and out of our Jeep.So between the low carbon steel that this is made of, and with this gritty looking powder coat, it is going to last a long time and it's going to keep all those scratches kind of hidden. As you can see, it does have a pretty cool design, but even if maybe we have a bunch of mud on our feet, we can scrape that off and we really won't have to worry about leaving scratches or wearing way of this powder coat.So these steps are going to mount a little bit higher than your OEM rockers. So you're going to have a maximum ground clearance, so you won't have to worry as much about scraping it whenever you're going off road.So we do have our stock wheels and tires on our Wrangler here and as you can see, we have a lot of room. These aren't too long, so if you have more aggressive mud tires, both in the front and also way here in the back, we have plenty of room to play with. So if we want to mess around with different tire sizes, we're going to be able to do that without having any clearance issues.
Another really good feature I like it's a bolt on installation. We don't have to drill anything, so if you put them on and you don't necessarily like the look, you don't have to sit there and live with those holes that you drilled. It's very easy to install, so let's just go ahead and do it together.So fresh out of the box, we are going to get two of these and they are going to be designated for either the driver/passenger side. One way to find out is to hold it up and as you can see, we do have six holes here. So what we want to do is each of these tabs here is going to go in the center of that hole.
And if it lines up, as you can see here, then this is definitely going to be the driver's side, so then we can go ahead and put some bracketry on.So with our kit we are going to get two types of brackets, but three total. We are going to get two that are going to be exactly the same as you can see here, there's no deviation to those and that is going to go towards the back and the middle.The one that is a little bit different is going to go by the front of the Jeep. One really easy way to make sure you're going to put these brackets on right, these holes here will be in the very middle of our tabs here.As we showed on the Jeep earlier, this obviously isn't going to work because it's not in the middle. So we got our rotate this around and find the right orientation. As you can see here, both of our two holes are spreading around this middle hole here and it's nice and centered.
So that is going to be the correct position.We are going to get a. The largest bolt in our kit is included, and we do have two washers and a nylon lock nut. What we're going to do is put one on like that, put that through, put another one on this side and put that lock on there. Just thread it on until it stops because we want this to be a little bit loose when we install, but installing them now is something you need to do because it's going to be almost impossible to get these installed whenever we mount this up to our Jeep, and we can repeat that same exact step for the ot
