I really enjoy my acoustic piano, there is nothing quite like playing the real thing. But it is loud, I really don't want to annoy the people around me when practicing and making the same mistakes or playing the same scales over and over.

So I decided to create a felt mute system that can be used like a practice pedal. Though this has a range of fabric thicknesses allowing the amount of muting to be controlled by how deep the felt is inserted into the piano.

If you make this yourself try some thinner materials such as cotton sheet to get minimal volume reduction.
