We’re back in Kruger National Park — entering through the Punda Maria Gate in the far north.
This part of the park feels completely different: quieter, wilder, and far less crowded. You might not see as many animals here as in the south, but the moments you do have are often yours alone.

After spending one night at Punda Maria Rest Camp, we start our drive towards Shingwedzi. Along the way, we’re lucky enough to come across a pack of wild dogs — a rare and special sighting in this remote part of Kruger.

Later that day, as the sun begins to set, we stop on the bridge to take in the last golden light before heading back to camp.
And just before gate closing time, we get one final surprise: southern ground hornbills foraging along the roadside — the perfect calm ending to a long day in the wild north.
