In this video, I discuss why I purposely activate mTOR throughout the day, every day of the year, with a high-protein diet rich in leucine. I follow this diet to enhance muscle protein synthesis, maintain muscle mass and quality, and slow the loss of motor units. This approach improves mobility and helps prevent sarcopenia and frailty as I age. By activating mTOR, I am laying the foundation to keep my body youthful.

At the age of 60, a high protein diet and the subsequent activation of mTOR helps my body recuperate faster, helps me avoid joint and cartilage problems, and helps my body have the agility of someone much younger than 60.

mTOR plays a crucial role in keeping the body youthful by differentiating, proliferating, and protecting hematopoietic and mesenchymal stem cells. It safeguards muscles, cartilage, bones, and blood cells, optimizing blood circulation and strengthening the immune system. Contrary to some beliefs, mTOR activation does not accelerate aging or cause diseases; it actually promotes longevity. A high-protein diet is, therefore, the ultimate longevity diet.
