I was asked to create a gift for the Lauridsen family who was the top donor for the new skatepark that just opened in Des Moines, Iowa. This is one of the largest outdoor skateparks in the United States and also hosting the only US skateboard qualifying event for the 2021 Summer Olympics. Here is a link to the new venue:

After discussing options for the gift with the person in charge, we came up with the idea of making a map view of the skatepark carved into skateboard wood. This would be a nice representation of the skatepark and a one of a kind gift.
