One of my favorite current Star Wars comics is Alyssa Wong's Doctor Aphra. The comic series sees our homegirl, Doctor Aphra, working for the powerful Tagge family. It's full of Doctor Aphra awesomeness that I've come to love with the series. Doctor Aphra 15 is the fifteenth issue of the canon comic series Star Wars: Doctor Aphra, and is part of the Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters event. The issue saw Doctor Aphra, still in the employ of Domina Tagge, working alongside Sana Starros, Just Lucky, and Ariole Yu, as they attempted to escape the clutches of the assassin Deathstick. While the crew evaded Deathstick. As Doctor Aphra fought off Deathstick on the Crimson Dawn flagship, Vermillion, she came upon an ancient device called the Thought Dowser. The Thought Dowser was a device used by ancient Sith, as well as a dark side cult called The Ascendant, to teach their apprentices how to compel and manipulate people by channeling one’s will. It was written by Alyssa Wong, illustrated by Minkyu Jung, and published by Marvel Comics on October 13, 2021. CRIMSON DAWN is back, and DOCTOR APHRA is trapped aboard their ship!What treasures lie aboard the VERMILLION? And what price will Doctor Aphra have to pay to obtain them? The rogue archaeologist returned with a new crew and a new mission! With the Rebel Alliance on the run after their defeat at the Battle of Hoth, it’s never been a more dangerous time for outlaws and scoundrels. But after a string of bad luck and near escapes, Doctor Aphra is back on the job — hunting the score of a lifetime that’s too good to pass up. Doctor Aphra was a human female archaeologist recruited by Darth Vader after the Battle of Yavin. Doctor Aphra, along with her assassin droid companions, 0-0-0 (Triple-Zero) and BT-1 (Beetee), fulfilled several missions for the Sith Lord before falling out of his favor, and after faking her own death, continued to roam the galaxy with the two droids. Doctor Aphra went by the alias Joystick Chevron, first when introducing herself to recurring adversary and occasional romantic partner Magna Tolvan, and later during her time serving in the Accresker Penal Legion.
