As a journalist for TVB for 4 years I covered events leading up to the handover and beyond between 1996-2000.

On June 30th 1997 the date of Hong Kong's historic handover from British Colony to Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China I recorded the daylong coverage.

Here for historians and researchers as well as friends and colleagues is how it looked and felt on that day.

In this segment, Governor Chris Patten's Farewell continues. The segment was cut into smaller pieces to fit into the YouTube 15 minute format.

Check out 3:34, Patten's smoking hot daughters.

4:10 the handing of the Governor's standard to Lance Brown, the Aide de Camp.

4:52 Handing the standard to Governor Patten.

5:21 God Save the Queen Plays---for the last time.

6:00 The limosenes were to drvve around the grounds 3 times, as a tradition that one will return. But I only count two times.
