MY NEW EP "FUMBLING TOWARDS GLORY" IS OUT THIS SUMMER
Fumbling Towards Glory is an ode to my favorite female singer- songwriters of the 90s. Alanis Morissette, Sarah McLaughlin, Aimee Mann, Sheryl Crow, were just a few of the artists I was channeling when I wrote this record. I got my start writing for other pop artists in 2016- and at the time it felt unsafe to speak my mind the way I wanted to. Nobody was doing it the way I heard it, but the 90s girls were. So I listened to them over and over - and in my mind they became my friends and mentors, giving me permission to write the things I was too afraid to say out loud.

My EP title is inspired by Sarah McLaughlin's 1993 record “Fumbling Towards Ecstasy”. It’s one of my favorites not only sonically- but also because of the way it was created. She channelled these songs and recorded them mostly unedited- in a remote location with her producer. My process is similar- writing alone in a remote, beautiful place and trying to get out the purest version of my thoughts- before bringing it to a trusted producer to flesh it out with me. The phrase Fumbling Towards Glory also aligns so much with the timing of my life. While making this record I felt I was physically fumbling towards a higher version of myself- The person I am longing to be- Caught in the trenches of low self worth but simultaneously the highest form of self love. Knowing better but not knowing exactly how to reach that peak I know I am capable of. In essence- this is a modern nostalgia record- meant to give you a taste of the late 90s - and also provide a sense of hope and understanding of how it feels to fumble through your early adulthood.
