Volendam & Marken are just one of the many beautiful countrysides of the Netherlands. It is a must-see area whenever you plan a trip to Amsterdam. Both are just approximately 30 minutes away from the Central Station by bus.

If you choose to rent a car, it is also very nice and convenient to do. In Volendam, we were able to find a free parking, but most of the parking in Holland and the rest of Europe is paid parking.

In Marken however, we paid 16 euros for parking. It doesn't matter how many minutes or hours but you pay anyways for the "day parking."
