Physical Layer (OSI Model):

The Physical Layer is the first layer of the OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) model. It deals with the physical connection between devices and the transmission of raw data bits over a medium like cables or radio waves.

Key Functionalities:

1. Bit Transmission – Transfers raw binary data (0s and 1s) between devices.


2. Media Type – Defines the physical medium (e.g., copper wire, fiber optics, wireless).


3. Signal Encoding – Converts digital data into electrical, optical, or radio signals.


4. Data Rate – Controls the speed at which bits are transmitted.


5. Physical Topology – Determines the layout of devices (e.g., star, bus, ring).


6. Synchronization – Manages timing for sending and receiving bits.
