Diep.io is a multiplayer game. You level up by breaking shapes and killing other players. When you level up enough, you get to choose an upgrade for your tank. When you level up even more, you can transform your tank into a better one. If you hold down Y while your playing, it shows you the tank tree. There are 8 game modes. They are listed below.

-FFA | FFA stands for Free For All. There are no teams, so your main goal is to kill others, level up, and survive.

-Survival | In survival, Your main goal is to survive. There are no teams, and once you die, you can't respawn in the same game. The winner is the person who survives to the end.

-2 Teams | There are 2 teams, and you need to try defeat the players on the apposing team. You cannot harm the players on your team. Don't go too close to the opposing base, or the base protectors will kill you (they are small triangles that are very fast and do lots of damage).

-4 Teams | There are 4 teams, and you need to try defeat the players on the opposing teams. You cannot harm the players on your team. Don't go too close to the opposing base, or the base protectors will kill you (they are small triangles that are very fast and do lots of damage).

-Domination | There are 2 teams, and 4 cannons. The cannons start off on nobody's team. When a team destroys a cannon, it becomes theirs. The cannon will not harm anybody on the team that destroyed it. When a team destroys a cannon that the opposing team owns, the cannon will try to kill everybody, until a team destroys it. For a team to win, they must own all of the cannons.

-Tag | there are 4 teams. When a person from an opposing team kills you, you respawn on their team. Once everybody is all on the same team the game ends. The map gets smaller as more tanks get killed.

-Maze | In maze, there are no teams, so your main goal is to kill other players, level up, and survive. There are walls scattered around the map that you can't go through, and neither can your bullets.

-Sandbox | Sandbox is a small box where you can test out tanks. Hold down K to level up, press backslash\ to alter tanks (some tanks that you change to may not be available in other game modes), and press O to kill yourself.
