ஒரு நாள், பிரம்மா மற்றும் விஷ்ணு, யாருடைய சக்தி உயர்ந்தது என்பதைக் குறித்து வாதாடிக்கொண்டிருந்தனர்.
அவர்களின் வாதத்துக்குள், திடீரென ஒரு மர்மமான தூண் தோன்றியது.
விஷ்ணு, ஒரு வாராகமாக மாறி, தூணின் அடியைத் தேடப் புறப்பட்டார்.
ஆனால், கடலின் அடியில் எவ்வளவோ ஆழமாக தோண்டியும், தூணின் முடிவைக் காண முடியவில்லை.
பிரம்மா, ஒரு அன்னமாக மாறி, தூணின் உச்சியைத் தேடி பறந்தார்.
ஆனால், எவ்வளவோ உயரமாக பறந்தும், தூணின் உச்சியை அடைய முடியவில்லை.
இருவரும் தோற்றுக் கொண்டு தரையிறங்க, அந்த தூணிலிருந்து சிவபெருமான் தெய்வீக வடிவில் தோன்றினார்.
அவரது திருவருளைக் கண்டு, பிரம்மா மற்றும் விஷ்ணு தங்கள் கர்வத்தை துறந்து,
"சிவனே பரம்பொருள்!" என பக்தியுடன் குனிந்தனர்.

One day, Brahma and Vishnu argued over their supremacy.
During their debate, a mysterious pillar suddenly appeared.
Vishnu transformed into a boar and tried to find the pillar’s base by digging deep into the ocean but failed.
Meanwhile, Brahma turned into a swan and flew upwards to find the top but couldn’t.
Both returned defeated, and from the pillar, Lord Shiva appeared in his divine form.
Realizing his supreme power, both Brahma and Vishnu bowed in reverence, proclaiming Shiva as the ultimate power.
