Somalia - Aideed's Message Of National Unity

Somali warlord General Mohamed Farah Aideed told a news conference
at his Mogadishu home on Sunday (5/3) that the war in Somalia is
over. He said opposing factions were united in their desire to
rebuild Somalia and added that he was ready to work with his
arch-rival, Ali Mahdi Mohammed. "Now the Somalis are united to
work together to rebuild the country and to maintain peace and
security," Aideed said. "The war is over. In the north, we have
contacted our brothers there and we have told them to stop
fighting. At this stage, things are improving." Aideed said
Somalia wanted to work together with all countries and needs to
live in harmony with the international community.

Aideed sot saying: Now Somali's are united to work together to
re-build the country to maintain peace and security of their
country. To reconcile definitely, to trust each other, to live in
harmony to look ahead.
Aideed sot saying: We are going to implement the peace agreement
signed recently with me and my brother ali mahdi (mohammed).
Aideed sot: We have a committee to unite our militia and operate
together. The first meeting took place yesterday and will continue
today to plan in order to succeed together.
Aideed sot: The war is over. In the North we have contacted our
brothers there and we have told them to stop fighting and at this
stage things are improving.
Aideed sot: We are not enemy of the international comunity. We are
part of the United Nations and we want to have good relations will
all countries and work togeather. we need to live in harmony with
the international community.
