Sniffing the soil. Our first on-farm trial of the QUOLL electronic nose in Tasmania.

Описание к видео Sniffing the soil. Our first on-farm trial of the QUOLL electronic nose in Tasmania.

We're ready to put the electronic nose to the test and are looking for Tasmanian farmers to host a trial on their property.
The QUOLL® electronic nose (e-nose) was developed by TIA researchers as part of a Soil CRC project.
It can detect the aroma of soil and provide a rapid test of soil activity, helping farmers make informed decisions about how to best manage their soil and be more productive and resilient to environmental changes.
The first on-farm trial happened recently at our Forthside Vegetable Research Facility. We’re now looking for Tasmanian farmers to get involved by hosting a QUOLL® on their property.
We want to find out how the device holds-up in the farm environment and refine the modelling to make this a useful tool for farmers.
