Описание к видео Major Changes to Core Surgical Training Portfolio 2024/25 – What’s New?

In this video, I break down the major changes in the Core Surgical Training (CST) recruitment process for 2024/25, along with key anticipated changes for 2025/26. Whether you're preparing for CST or Integrated Surgical Training (IST), staying informed on these updates is crucial.

Key Changes for 2024/25:

Portfolio Station: Introduction of a portfolio station during the multi-station interview format. No more self-assessment on Oriel – instead, candidates will upload an index page and categorize their evidence (A to E). The final score is determined during the interview, not before.

Surgical Experience - Conferences: This component has been removed following MDRS guidance.

Training Experience: To score top points, candidates must now demonstrate that they've delivered 4 teaching sessions.

Training Qualifications: This domain has been removed in line with previous changes.

Anticipated Changes :

ITU as a Specialty: ITU will no longer count as a surgical specialty in the portfolio.
Foundation Placements: Only elective or taster placements will count as surgical experience, reverting to pre-pandemic guidelines.
Stay tuned to ensure you’re fully prepared for these key changes!
