Montreal’s new light-rail system, the Réseau express métropolitain (REM), has been transforming transit on the South Shore since 2023. For over five years, Transportation Research at McGill (TRAM) has been closely studying how this major project and its construction have impacted the city. This video shares key findings from our research as the REM expands and reshapes travel and land use patterns across Montreal.
