Police radio created the catch phrase — Parker Brothers created the board game!

Описание к видео Police radio created the catch phrase — Parker Brothers created the board game!

When early police radio was still a new concept, the phrase "Calling All Cars" became a well-known phrase when significant law enforcement emergencies occurred. Parker Brothers reacted like game makers always do with this classic race game which remained in their catalog for over a quarter of a century.
It's a spin-and-move race game of pure luck. It's not a chase game, not a crime-centered game, not really even a car game. But the balance of the twin-spinners, the "station" points on the board, and the distance to "headquarters" must have been just right for the game to last so long.
More significant is the was the game relates to the "cops and robbers" history of the 1930s, and the way a simple catch phrase can find new life on the game tables of America.
