Описание к видео Best electric Log splitter? ALKO LSH 520/5 Review

Review of the ALKO LSH 520/5. Is it the best value affordable portable electric Log splitter? It has a nice price and have worked fine for three years, so yeah, I would call this one of the best in its class. Overall this should be a good option for a small household looking to splitting logs into firewood occasionally during the year.

PROS
Splits logs into firewood. No problems with small or big logs, birch, pine, spruce, cherry etc. I use it without the cage for bigger logs. The downside to that is that you need to put a log between the one you split to make it quicker. No big deal, just use some eye and face protection incase if some wood shoots back at you.
Pretty good value for what it does. You can find similar products from various brands everywhere and they all look like they are from the same prc factory. I would usually choose a locally made and more efficient product, but this thing does a nice job, in a convenient size, at an affordable price.
Nice ergonomics. The stand is high so you don’t have to bend over or stand on your knees as with some similar lower models. You can use it without the stand as well, like on a table top or trailer.
Portable with wheeled stand. The wheels work fine on flat solid ground. Initially I thought I would use it outdoors but it is pretty awkward to move around on uneven, soft ground. So I bring the logs in under roof in an ATV cart, split it, throw it in the UTV bed, and dump it in the firewood shed. Works pretty great as I can split firewood when it rains and easily collect the small thrashey byproducts.
It is pretty narrow to stow away to the side in the shed or bard when not in use.
You could bust a nut with this if you use a stick as shown in the video.

CONS
One split only. It should have that type of cross style split or duo split some splitters have like an accessory, it would save a lot of time when you split smaller sticks. Those are available from third parties but wish AL-KO would include it.
Speed. It is pretty slow but it should be fine for the casual user. During a few hours I managed to produce firewood lasting for well over a year. The slowness also makes it safer to use.
Semi hand job. Splitting with this electric tool is easier than using an axe, but still a solid hand job. Hand jobs are good for you.
Dumpin stand. The stand is practical but it looks like it is taking a dump.
The rubber feet/caps on the stand are pretty useless unless you leve it standing in one spot. They always fall off when I move the splitter.
If you split a lot of really large logs the highness of the stand could be a disadvantage, but for small to medium logs this splitter is great.
The start button will make your trigger finger fatigue after long use, I would have preferred a two-stick operation for more comfort.
