Today we're going to be taking a look at part #CARR183082. This is the car hitch mount step for two inch trailer hitches. This unit is going to offer a nice clean look to the hitch on your vehicle. It's going to offer quick and easy way to gain access to your truck bed, cargo area, or to get things on and off the roof. When it's not in use it flips up and out of the way. And it's going to allow use to see the checkered racing flags so it's going to give us a nice design there on the bottom of the step. Now that is going to be protected so you don't have to worry about that fading or being scratched.

It's got a nice gloss coat finish to it. Here on the step itself it's going to offer sure footing, it's got a non-slip surface. The step itself is going to give us an overall length measurement of about 5 and 1/8th of an inch. And it's going to give us an overall depth measurement of about 2 and 5/8ths of an inch. This unit right here is going to slide into the opening of our receiver tube of the hitch. You're going to place it in until your pinholes line up and you're going to insert a hitch pin and clip or hitch pin lock. Those items are sold separately.

For our demonstration today we will be using part number PC3, that's going to be your standard 5/8th inch pin and it's going to come with a clip. The unit is constructed of sturdy, rust proof die-cast aluminium so it's going to last a long time, very strong and durable with a heavy duty design. And it's going to be made right here in the U.S.A. Again it is designed for 2-inch by 2-inch trailer hitch receivers. A couple measurements I want to over with you real quick to see if this will actually work with your particular setup. We're going to take a measurement from this point here to the center of our pinholes. You can see that it has a two pinhole design to best fit your application.

But what you can do is you can take these measurements out to your vehicle and do the same measurement from the center of your hitch pinhole to the opening of the receiver tube of your hitch. That's going to let you know if this is going to work with your particular setup. So from that point there to the center of the first pinhole we're looking at about 2 and 1/8th of an inch and then from that point there to the center of the rear pinhole we're looking at about 2 and 7/8ths of an inch. This unit is going to offer a weight capacity of 650lbs and it is going to come with a limited lifetime warranty. We're going to go and install this inside our hitch today, just so you can see how easily it installs. All you have to do is take the shank portion and slide it in to the opening until your pinholes line up.

Once we get those lined up we'll just insert our 5/8th inch pin, and we can secure it with a clip or a lock on the other side. So again, once it's folded up it's going to display the checkered racing flags and it's ready to be used as a step. Simply just fold that down and we can easily gain access to those areas of our vehicle. That's going to do it for today's look, at part #CARR183082.
