A few months ago I decided to change my Sertraline dose from 50mg to 100mg daily. This wasn't a decision I took lightly and I am hopeful this video helps other people who might be struggling with the idea of changing their dosage.

I really want to emphasis the message in this video; talking therapy should be your priority. Medication can take the edge off but please work on resolving your trauma and/or triggers. Good Luck Guys!

Fed up of trying to get information about Sertraline only to be confronted by overly complex explanations? Looking for someone to walk you through the experience and highlight the highs & lows?

I have been taking Setraline (Zoloft) for over a year now and have recently changed dose from 50mg daily to 100mg daily. I take Sertraline due to ongoing mental health issues; specifically depression and general anxiety disorder. I recently realised that my anxiety was founded in agoraphobia from an incident in my childhood but aspects of my mental health have detrimentally effected my life over the past couple of decades. Sertraline has helped me make progress and until recently 50mg daily was the dose that worked. The recent pandemic negatively impacted many aspects of my life and I found myself emotionally vulnerable once again. I hesitated before asking my Dr to increase my dose because, genuinely, I felt like a bit of a failure and didn't want to feel like the progress I had made was now lost. Eventually I managed to speak to my GP over the phone and we made the decision to increase my daily Sertraline dosage from 50mg to 100mg. At first, I struggled with the side effects but I am in a better place now. Importantly I have made some lifestyle changes that have helped me significantly - I am eating better and have stopped drinking alcohol. The latter has had a significant impact on my physical and mental wellbeing. I will talk more about this change in a later video.

For now I really hope you take the time to find a good talking therapy. This is truly the best way to make progress in managing the symptoms of your mental illness. Take time to remind yourself you are doing a good job.
