Descending the Hesketh Shaft with remote Camera

Описание к видео Descending the Hesketh Shaft with remote Camera

Video of a remote camera descending the Hesketh Pit shaft atthe former pit and museum, Chatterley Whitfield in Stoke on Trent, which closed as a museum in 1993. The Hesketh shaft was the main coal drawing shaft for the colliery and was last used in 1976 when the pit - colliery closed. The pit was connected by tunnel to nearby Wolsatnton Colliery which remained open as it bit the pumping for both pits. Once Wolstanton closed, the pumps were turned off and the working gradually filled with water. This can be seen for the footage in the Hesketh Shaft
