FS-508 | 1.5 minute alert + Whelen ambience | 2/7/24 | The Colony TX.

At 12:00pm on 2/7/24 The Colony TX conducted their monthly siren test. I wanted to see a siren at 12:00 and I've always wanted to see a 508 So kind of chose this one at random. Before the test you could hear some Whelen's coming from I assume both Frisco and Plano. The siren was surprisingly loud and sounded pretty nice. It was only installed about fiveish years ago, so relatively new siren. Did some digging apparently The Colony used to have old ACA siren system I knew about the P-50 which is now in Sweetwater, Texas but they also supposedly used to have Allertors and P-15/P-10s couldn't get much information. There are a few videos of P-50 sounding but none of their old system. The P-50 is now another 508. The colony has a mix of 508s and 2001s; they also have a Model 2 on top of one of the fire stations that used to be a fire siren, but it's now inactive (I checked; they're not going to sell it).
