Namit Das, more famous for his acting skills and a well known face in Indian cinema and theatre circuits, finally answers his calling as a singer and more importantly, composer. He applies his musical upbringing to compose and perform songs that are raw, beautifully simple, and emotionally moving, all in a traditional 'light classical' style of music from India which is a big part of Indian culture.

Anurag Shanker, a producer and guitar player who has worked with on array of projects spanning several genres such as blues, funk, live electronica and traditional Indian folk met Namit Das and his compositions to give them a color like no other with his jazz/blues infused melodic and rhythmic arrangements, and also brought in a stellar band to perform on the debut EP. Results can be heard on an exceptional release that has been getting some overwhelming reviews from fans and press alike.

Music like this represents India and its culture in a form that is relevant to its present and is at the same time accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds as it transcends genres by presenting classical, sufi, jazz, blues and folk music in an organic form without trying to do so. Namit Das + Anurag Shanker have just begun touring with an act at the NH7 Weekender 2014.
