Huntsville is a town in Muskoka. It is located 215 kilometres north of Toronto and 130 kilometres south of North Bay. The first European who settled in the area in 1869 was George Hunt, who built a small agricultural centre there. In 1870, a post office was built and the area was named Huntsville after Hunt, who became the first postmaster.
