A look at Liverpool Central Railway Station taken on the late afternoon of Saturday 20th July 2019.

Central station is the hub of the Merseyrail network. It is completely underground and set on 2 levels. The 'Northern Line' platforms - which date back to 1892 - serve trains running between Hunts Cross in the south of Liverpool to Southport, Kirby and Ormskirk. The 'Wirral Line' platform - opened in 1977 - is on the 'Liverpool Loop' and serves trains going to New Brighton, West Kirby, Chester and Ellesmere Port.
