During lockdown, Ludovico Einaudi immersed himself in nature and composing and the outcome was his first album of piano pieces in 20 years. The album entitles 'Underwater' is made of of several short, simple and very beautiful pieces of piano music giving impressions and moments in time. I would describe the album as Einaudi painting in sound. A 21st century impressionist. The first piece is called Luminous. I plan, over the next few days, to record the entire album, and follow this with a livestream concert of the whole album. As Einaudi was inspired by his daily walks, I thought it might be a nice idea to incorporate some clips from our daily walk on the day I record the piece. So, there are some beautiful beach walk clips (from Redcar) from our walk yesterday. Watch out for the funny moment at the end and hope you enjoy the first instalment of Underwater.
