Rabindranath Tagore was poet, writer, composer, philosopher and painter was born on 7 May 1861 in Calcutta, Bengal Province, British India.

He is the son of Debendranath Tagore and Sarada Devi. His grandfather was Dwarkanath Tagore & His grandmother was Digambari Devi.

He has 8 brothers. Satyendranath Tagore, Jyotirindranath Tagore, Dwijendranath Tagore, Hemendranath Tagore, Birendranath Tagore, Bhudendranath Tagore, Somendranath Tagore, Punyendranath Tagore are his Brothers. Tagor's had also 5 Sisters. Swarnakumari Devi, Barnakumari Tagore, Sukumari Tagore, Soudamini Tagore, Saratkumari Tagore are His Sisters.

Tagore married Mrinalini devi in 1883. Tagor had a son named Rathindranath Tagore. He has also 3 daughters, Renuka Devi, Meera Devi, Madhurilata Devi.

Kadambari Devi was the sister-in-law od Rabindranath Tagore. She inspired young Rabindranath in composing many of his poems with her. For reasons that are not known, she committed suicide on 21 April 1884, four months after Rabindranath Tagore married.

Indira Devi Chaudhurani, Sarala Devi Chaudhurani & Pragyasundari Devi all are his Niece. Veteran Actress Sharmila Tagore is his Granddaughter.
