Superhero Movies Can Be Beautiful

The superhero genre has existed in a long rollercoaster of ups and downs since Christopher Reeve's Superman flew across the big screen in 1978. Currently, the feeling in the air has been we are going back down. Even if that's not the case, things have inarguably gotten bumpy. Inject the shaky ground the genre stands on with corrosive, empty and disingenuous discourse that thrives on social media, it has gotten harder to see the value these movies can posses, and the legacy and personal impact of these beautiful movies can be obscured or disregarded in the noise of discourse and industry. In this video I return to why I love these particular movies, and the value they've carried for me.
