The family dispute of MLC Duvvada Srinivas, which began in Tekkali—located about 70 kilometers from the district headquarters of Srikakulam in a corner of the state—has gradually turned into a storm. Disputes have been ongoing in the Duvvada family for quite some time. Until the last elections, many thought these were mere rumors, but the situation turned serious when senior YSRCP leaders visited Duvvada Srinivas’s house and held a reconciliation meeting.

In the 2024 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Duvvada Srinivas contested from Tekkali as the YSRCP candidate, while his wife, Vani, also prepared to contest against him. Later, the issue seemed to have settled. Before the 2024 general elections, Chief Minister Jagan reportedly learned about a very close relationship between Duvvada and Madhuri. At that time, Vani directly approached Jagan and asked him to give the Tekkali seat to her instead of Duvvada. When Jagan asked for the reason, she complained that Duvvada was roaming around with Madhuri and had abandoned his own family.

However, Jagan distanced himself from the matter, stating it was a family issue and they needed to resolve it themselves. Eventually, the party ticket was given to Duvvada, but he lost the election.

Divvela Madhuri, meanwhile, stated that she remains in the YSRCP and is active in politics. She said it was Vani, Duvvada Srinivas's wife, who invited her into the party in 2022. Madhuri claims she worked with Duvvada purely as part of party activities. Now, she questions why Vani is making false accusations against her.

On the other hand, Madhuri has a family of her own. Her husband, Mahesh, said, "No matter what anyone says about my wife, I don’t believe it. I will stand by her in this difficult time."
