We embark on a journey into the depths of spiritual understanding, guided by the profound teachings of two mystical giants, Ibn 'Arabi and Meister Eckhart. This exploration explores their unique approaches to experiencing the Divine through the dual paths of silence and symbolism.

This reflective session focuses on the dual paths of silence and symbolism as means to connect with the Divine. The first path, championed by both Ibn 'Arabi and Meister Eckhart, is the way of silence. This approach involves knowing oneself as awareness, resting in stillness, and being present without adding anything from the personality into this field of being. It is a path of remembrance and returning to one's true nature.

The second path, equally potent, is the way of symbolism and imagery. It is about engaging in a receptive and co-creative relationship with the Divine, using the unique and individuated imagery that speaks to each of us. This approach embraces the Jungian concept of active imagination as a source of inspiration, guidance, and personal individuation.

In this video, we also discuss the importance of integrating these two paths, especially in the context of modern Western culture. The way of silence can sometimes lead to passivity, while the imaginal path requires discernment to avoid contamination by our ego and conditioning.

Through the lens of these two great mystics, we aim to offer a deeper understanding of how these two paths can complement each other in our spiritual journey. We discuss the potential of ally work as a practice that combines the foundational silence with the rich symbolism, leading to a holistic spiritual experience.
