Batteries have come a really long way. they are our sorted out energy storage devices we have as of now which is reliable enough that we can actually rely on eyes closed. BUT At the same time, these batteries are pretty dumb. in fact, all that happens in a battery are a couple of chemical reactions and nothing else. and there’s no way that you can control any properties of the battery with just that and for running EVs, control is everything. that’s where the BMS comes in, you call it the brain of the battery.
