“Jǫrmungandr” (The Midgard Serpent) is a ritual hymn inspired by the Elder Edda and Norse mythology. Born of Loki and Angrboda, the serpent was cast into the sea by the gods, where he grew so vast that he encircled all of Midgard. At Ragnarök, he shall rise from the deep to battle Thor - venom against thunder, serpent against hammer. Their clash will shake the world, and from the ruin, a new dawn will rise.
Carried by war drums, haunting female vocals, and oceanic soundscapes, this song is a new saga - a hymn of fate, storm, and rebirth.

Lyrics – Old Norse / English Translation
(Verse 1)
Liggja ormrs um ǫll jǫrð,
sær skelfr af súðars hrygg.
Djúprinn bylgjar, brimr brýtr,
Jǫrmungandr í myrkri býr.
Serpents coil around all earth,
the sea trembles beneath the ship’s spine.
The deep swells, the breakers roar,
Jörmungandr dwells in the dark below.
(Verse 2)
Þórr mun leita í þrumans reið,
hamarr skín í storma loga.
Ormrinn rís ór ægis djúpi,
eldr ok sær í eitri blandit.
Thor rides forth in thunder’s rage,
his hammer gleams in storming flame.
The serpent rises from ocean’s deep,
fire and sea entwined with venom.
(Chorus)
Heyrið hvín Jǫrmungandrs, særinn dunar,
hamarr Þórs í loga slær.
Heyrið hvinr ormrsins, heimr er klofinn,
Ragnarǫk rís í brimi svartri.
Hear the hiss of Jörmungandr, the sea resounds,
Thor’s hammer strikes in fiery sound.
Hear the serpent’s cry, the world is torn —
Ragnarök rises in the blackened storm.
(Verse 3)
Bifask fjǫll, brjótask steinar,
himinn klofnar af hǫggum tveim.
Þórr fellr, en þursinn deyr,
eitr ok eldr í endalokum.
Mountains quake, the stones are shattered,
heaven splits by mighty blows.
Thor falls, and the giant dies,
poison and fire at the world’s last throes.
(Verse 4)
Nornir spunnu af nætrins vef,
spáðu dauða ok dýrska mǫrk.
Svá fellr ætt í endilok,
sær ok logi gleypa heiminn.
The Norns have spun from the web of night,
foretelling death and the beast’s domain.
Thus falls the kin at the final dusk,
as sea and flame devour the world again.
(Chorus – repeated)
Heyrið hvín Jǫrmungandrs, særinn dunar,
hamarr Þórs í loga slær.
Heyrið hvinr ormrsins, heimr er klofinn,
Ragnarǫk rís í brimi svartri.
Hear the hiss of Jörmungandr, the sea resounds,
Thor’s hammer strikes in fiery sound.
Hear the serpent’s cry, the world is torn —
Ragnarök rises in the blackened storm.
