Massively Inflamed Epidermal Inclusion Cyst treated by Dr. H.L. Greenberg at Las Vegas Dermatology®

Cysts 💦 are collections of contents contained within a sac. This is a massively inflamed Epidermal Inclusion Cyst (EIC) with an adjacent smaller inflammation free EIC. Evaluation, Diagnosis, Relief & Definitive Cyst Treatment may vary depending on multiple factors including: cost, patient goals, time to perform the procedure & patient recovery. This particular cyst had been rapidly growing for 2 weeks, & she wanted relief. I was able to drain copious amounts of heme tinged purulence after a small incision of approximately 2mm with an 11 blade. The 2nd cyst drained mostly white cheese like contents in a string. Oral Doxycycline pills, Hibiclens wash & Mupirocin Ointment were prescribed. My sense is that this Incision & Drainage Procedure will be definitive in her case.

Treatment: Cyst Incision & Drainage 💉🔪
Purpose: To relieve symptoms and signs of an unwanted mass 😄
How it works: Potentially scarring, bothersome & infectious contents are removed from the skin.🤓
Time it takes: 10 minutes +/- ⌚️
Caution: Cysts can grow, become painful, get infected & lead to scars whether or not they are removed. 🛑
Pain level: Moderate, less so with Anesthesia 🤭
