This is an unmixed recording of The Nashville Celts performing a live concert at The Carolina Opry Theater.
The song Paddy's Lamentation tells the sad story of how Irish immigrants were drafted right off of the ship as they entered New York. Often just for the chance to get square meals. Many did not survive the American Civil War as they were often tragically forced to battle other Irish immigrants; as in the battle of Fredericksburg under General Mahar, commander of the famous Irish Brigade.
