Certain events are definitely going to happen, perhaps slightly off in their estimated dates, but they will come to fruition. Others are more unconventional with some just downright frightening! Let’s do some time travelling.

8 - Blow hot and cold
There’s a strong chance that by 2050, we will be able to control the weather. Already there is some weather control technology in place for mediating tornadoes. The only problem is that it will be so expensive that it may not be viable to use. There are scientists who are working tirelessly in the hopes of engineering the Earth’s climate to alleviate the worst effects of climate change.

Already in 2014, Google’s X Lab said they were working on a pill that would be able to send microscopic particles into the bloodstream which will be able to detect cancers and heart problems. If this works like they believe it will, it has the potential to save millions of lives.

6 - Aging with grace
Aubrey De Grey, an English author and biomedical gerontologist, believes by 2036 aging will be brought under control. The Cambridge scientist claims that the first people who will live to 1,000-years old have already been born. He suggests that aging is a disease and that once we find the cure, we will have the key to immortality.

5 - Money makes the world go around
Many speculate that by 2050, the world will have one currency. Already the world is using electronic currency in most countries, and that by 2050, one single currency will be accepted across the globe. This would slowly replace all other currencies.


4 - Ideas take flight
If companies like Technicon Design in France or the UK’s Center for Process Innovation get it right, by 2050 we’ll be flying in planes that are all window and each passenger will have panoramic views. Don’t stress, the windows are not real but what the companies are hoping to achieve is to lower the weight of the plane by removing the windows. They will then replace the windows with a display of the exterior environment taken with cameras placed outside the plane. The images would be projected on HD screens inside the plane.

3 - Book a one-way ticket
There is speculation that by 2050, there might be a railway connecting Moscow and New York. The Bering Strait crossing is an imaginary bridge or tunnel that could connect North America and Eurasia.



2 - Speaking my language
Some like to believe that by 2050, there will only be 3 languages spoken in the world - English, Spanish and Mandarin. Minor languages are fading away quickly, and these 3 languages have the strongest chance of sticking around for good.
