In this video we demonstrate how to turn natural language text prompts into fully interactive charts in Oracle APEX. Using Generative AI, we convert a user’s plain English request into a structured JSON payload that includes a syntactically correct SQL statement, chart type, title, and axis labels. We then validate and sanitize the SQL, populate an APEX collection from the query results, and render the chart.
You’ll see a practical example of the following flow: combine the user prompt with database profile metadata, send a strict system prompt to the model, parse the JSON response, validate the generated SQL, and wire the results into an APEX chart region. The charts themselves are defined in APEX; GenAI supplies the data source and chart attributes.
