Katharine Dalke is a physician and professor. She completed a BA in Classical Literature from Haverford College, then went on to the University of Pennsylvania to obtain both an MD and a Master's in Bioethics. After graduating, she completed residency training in psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania and developed her expertise in LGBTQ and intersex mental health.

Dr. Dalke is currently an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania, and at the time of this interview directed the Office of Culturally Responsive Health Care Education at Penn State University, which prepares learners for working with diverse patients. Dr. Dalke also developed the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute's LGBTQ Clinic and co-founded the Hershey Children's Hospital Integrated Gender Health Clinic, and she serves on the Pennsylvania Governor's Commission on LGBTQ affairs. Dr. Dalke shared how her experiences growing up motivated her to pursue medicine to improve medical practice for intersex individuals by advocating through direct patient care.
