Thomas Mac sent tens of thousands of people to attack me online for creating my own version of “Johnny Went Down to Hell.” The thing is — I had no idea anyone else had ever done the song. I just thought it was a cool idea and made my own take on it.

But here’s the kicker…
Thomas’s “original” version? Turns out he wasn’t first either.
A full year before Thomas Mac released his track, an artist called Reimaginary had already done the exact same concept — same title, same theme, same hook.
And going back even further, three years ago, another song came out titled “The Johnny Went Down to Hell.”

So yeah — the whole “copycat” narrative Thomas pushed was fake from the start.
I didn’t steal a thing. I just created my own version of an idea that’s clearly been floating around for years.
