SYND 1 12 77 RELIEF OPERATIONS AT CYCLONE AREA

(29 Nov 1977) Relief operations in iNdia's Andhra Pradesh state are into their second week, but it will be several months before the survivors of the recent cyclone disaster are completely resettled. The cyclone which hit india's south-eastern coast and struck the state of Andhra Pradesh on November 21, triggered devastating tidal waves and flash floods resulting in a death toll of at least 12,000 people, leaving thousands of others homeless.
