de Broglie Hypothesis suggests that the motion of quantum particles is associated with the propagation of wave. The Davisson & Germer Experiment finally provided the experimental evidence to such a bizaare claim of quantum mechanics.

The Davisson and Germer experiment, conducted in 1927, provided experimental evidence for the de Broglie hypothesis, which states that particles such as electrons possess wave-like properties. In the experiment, a beam of electrons was directed at a nickel crystal surface. The scattered electrons were then detected and recorded based on the energy of the incident electrons and the angle of scattering. Surprisingly, the scattered electrons formed peaks at certain scattering angles rather than a random distribution. This pattern is similar to the interference pattern observed in the diffraction of x-rays in Bragg's diffraction, supporting the wave-particle duality concept proposed by de Broglie. The experiment confirmed that electrons have wave-like properties and established the fundamental principle of wave-particle duality in quantum mechanics.
