Welcome to the second video in our series on Exodus! In this episode, we dive into the dramatic calling of Moses and the profound lessons found in his encounter with God.
We’ll explore why God chose to call Moses through a burning bush—a miraculous sign that captured Moses’ attention and revealed God’s holiness and presence. The burning bush symbolizes God’s ability to use the ordinary for extraordinary purposes and His desire to communicate directly with those He calls.
We’ll also discuss why, despite this clear call, Moses initially refused the mission. Moses’ hesitation reveals his feelings of inadequacy and fear, reminding us that even great leaders struggle with self-doubt. God’s persistence with Moses demonstrates divine patience and efficiency, showing that God equips and encourages those He chooses, even when they resist.
A challenging part of the story, found in Exodus 4:24-26, is also addressed. This passage, where God confronts Moses on the journey to Egypt, highlights the seriousness of obedience to God’s covenant—specifically the command of circumcision. It reminds us that responding to God’s call requires wholehearted commitment and respect for His instructions.
Finally, we’ll highlight what we should retain from this study: God meets us where we are, calls us to His purpose, and patiently works with our weaknesses. True obedience involves both accepting God’s mission and honoring His covenant. Join us as we uncover the depth and meaning of Moses’ calling and what it teaches us about responding to God today!

Key Bible Text:“And the Lord said: ‘I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows. So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them
