WHY I CHOSE A QUAKER PARROT AND LATER REGRET IT

Hey burbs! So lets talk about Quaker Parrot and why I chose one. First of all, I want to say that its normal throughout our journey with our birbs to start second guessing yourself and wondering if we made the right decisions. This is currently the state that I am in with my own Quaker Parrot Popples.

Of course, you all know I absolutely love and adore my birds, but I feel it is necessary to also talk about some of the things you yourself may face when considering a Quaker/ Monk Parakeet. These 'issues' are not necessarily deal breakers for myself but very well could be for others so I want to stand up and inform others. My ultimate goal is to help educate others using my own experience and in turn reduce the amount of birds rehomed and neglected every year.

I would also like to create a drama free pet community where we can all talk about questions and concerns we may have with our animals. It would be so amazing to have our little corner of the internet where we can meet and speak to other bird lovers and learn from one another. So I encourage all of us (including myself) to make a point to be more kind to others and provide constructive criticism instead of hate comments.

Also, here is a link to see if quaker parrots are legal in your state! Surprisingly enough, there isn't too many states that are illegal. Not sure if I was looking at the wrong map beforehand or what the dealio was but good news!!! Hope this helps.
