Ever wanted to improve the looks of a steam locomotive? This video will inspire you to get started! Five creative and experienced railroad modelers from Japan, Canada and the United States share their favorite projects, tips, techniques, and results. The Zoom meeting starts with a brief introduction to locomotive detailing by Rich Blake, including a list of useful suppliers. He is followed in turn by Yoshi Ueda, Ron Hopkins MMR*, Jon Bentz and Gary Jordan MMR*. Each of the skilled craftsmen share photographs of their favorite modeling projects both under construction and as finished products. The similarities and differences between their approaches is illuminating and makes you want to roll up your sleeves and get to work on your own creative locomotive detailing project!

These presentations took place at the October 13th, 2021, virtual meeting of the Skagit Valley & Whidbey NMRA Clinic of the Fourth Division of the Pacific Northwest Region (https://www.4DPNR.com) of the National Model Railroad Association (https://www.NMRA.org).
