As President-elect Yoon chooses top aides, there's a lot of attention on who might be named chief of staff.
The nominee reportedly needs "sense and experience in state affairs".

President-elect Yoon Suk-yeol's current chief secretary Chang Je-won has once again ruled himself out of the running for Yoon's presidential chief of staff.
Chang had been considered the primary candidate for the post, but he said on Tuesday that he will return to the National Assembly back to his original career as a lawmaker.
He also refuted speculation that Yoon is seeking a nominee with expertise in the economy echoing remarks by Yoon's spokesperson.

"The scope of nominations should not be confined to any particular area. In nominating picks for the presidential office, the Cabinet, and secretaries, a wide range of opinions will be taken into consideration."

Chang, however, DID emphasize that the nominee needs "experience and sense in state affairs".
Among the potential candidates discussed include former lawmaker Jang Sung-min.
A once vocal critic of Yoon, Jang is now Yoon's special advisor, and he previously served as chief of the state affairs office under the Kim Dae-jung administration.
And Kwon Young-se the transition committee's vice chair.

There's also much attention on Yoon's pick for deputy prime minister, a role that doubles up as finance minister... as well as Yoon's pick for the chair of the Financial Services Commission.

"We are looking for a prime minister who can form a dream team for the economy along with the finance minister as well as the chair of the FSC and the presidential secretary for economic affairs."

Those nominations are likely to come in the coming days... and perhaps together... as Yoon has named his Prime Minister nominee over the weekend former PM Han Duck-soo, who has more than 30 years of experience.

"So far in nominating officials, Yoon has been emphasizing two things "experience" and "knowledge".
This is also in line with what he calls "competent government"... led by people who, he says, can get the job done right away and well.
