The video opens with an Irish Regiment of Canada cap badge missing the lugs, followed by a WWII RAF cap badge. Soon after, Dave uncovers a mysterious Victorian helmet plate, likely from a quilted shako, waiting to be identified by the military history community. The haul also includes an 180th Battalion sweetheart badge in beautiful condition, along with a 208th Battalion sweetheart badge missing its pin but still crafted in sterling silver. A stunning two-tone 208th Irish badge with green and yellow detail stands out as a highlight, reflecting both rarity and visual appeal.

Collectors of Victorian military headgear will appreciate the repaired 83rd Shako badge, while WWI Canadian insignia fans will enjoy the Canadian Forestry Corps badge, the 11th Irish Fusiliers shoulder titles, and an unusual pin-back 208th shoulder title variation. Dave examines multiple patterns of 199th Battalion shoulder titles and compares three distinct Irish Regiment of Canada shoulder titles—wartime, post-war, and very post-war—showing differences in backing, font, and construction.

Among the surprises are sports jacket-style Irish Regiment of Canada badges with an unusual crown design, and two damaged but historically important Imperial German helmet plates that were once nailed to a wall. Adding a quirky twist to the haul is an Ontario Motor League car ornament featuring a beaver, a piece of early Canadian motoring history.

The Duke of Connaught’s Own shoulder titles make an appearance with their triple-lug construction, followed by a 218th Battalion collar badge, a 109th Bombay Infantry Glengarry badge, and an 104th Bengal Fusiliers badge. A bronze Machine Gun Corps cap badge with broken lug shows the patina of age, while the 218th Battalion cap badge remains intact despite bent lugs. There’s also an unknown slider badge that will require more research.

WWI badge enthusiasts will enjoy the 121st Battalion cap badge, collar, and number, along with an 180th Battalion collar featuring a pin-back design. An oversized New Zealand cap badge sparks curiosity about its exact use. Perhaps one of the most historically valuable finds is the India General Service Medal (India Mutiny) from 1829, issued to John Caldwell of His Majesty’s 27th Regiment—a tangible connection to 19th-century British military history.

Postcard collectors will be drawn to the rare 208th Battalion Quartermaster Staff and 5th Platoon unit photo postcards from WWI. These embossed and inscribed cards are exceptionally well-preserved, offering glimpses of Canadian soldiers’ lives during the First World War. The haul also features a seven-button WWI Canadian tunic with a snake belt, and a heartfelt 1917 Toronto postcard sent from father to son, a poignant reminder of wartime correspondence and homefront history.
