RajPusht is a project to reduce the prevalence of low birth weight and wasting among children in the most vulnerable districts of Rajasthan, India: Baran, Banswara, Pratapgarh, Dungarpur, and Udaipur. It achieves this by:

• Providing cash transfers to enable pregnant women and lactating mothers to buy nutritious food for themselves
• Creating an enabling environment to prioritize nutrition for mothers via 360-degree Social & Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) interventions (interpersonal communication, participatory community meetings, mid-media, digital media, and mass media) to ensure that pregnant women and lactating mothers eat locally available, nutritious food during and after pregnancy. The SBCC strategy targets not only women but also husbands, in-laws, family members, and community members
• Building capacities and incentivizing community workers to motivate mothers to eat adequate, diverse meals
• Data-driven monitoring to inform programme design by recording and analysing anthropometric measures of every woman and child in the project fold
• Using technology for automated birth weight monitoring, programme monitoring, and counselling beneficiaries
• Engaging with the state leadership for accountability and sustained support for programme interventions
• Sharing lessons and evidence to inform policy
