Does the LG V40 sound WORSE than the V30?

A mini controversy brewing for the LG V40. Many are concerned that headphone playback on the V40 doesn't sound as good as output on the V30. If only there were a way we could test that. Like, with cables, connected to some kind of audio recording hardware. And it would be REALLY cool if we also had a screen that could show us those recordings so we could compare. Man. That sure would be cool...
