We were allowed to master the film score ‘Sphere’ by Andy Hötter. In the video you can see all the settings we made on the hardware.

Customers regularly ask how I process the audio files in a mastering session.
The video shows a very typical case: I split the signal with the Gemini and then process the centre and side separately in the PQ. From there, the signal goes back into the Gemini and then I work in the usual left/right stereo format. I use the Iron to aim for the desired target volume. I try to set the rectifier time values so that the compression is either very unobtrusive or works in the right groove with the music. Finally, I use the Passeq to work out the elements that I think are particularly interesting for the listener. In this film score, these are the low basses and the percussive elements. Here you can also see the strongest boosts (54Hz and 3.3kHz).
