Lyrics
Sakhi! Ik, Sapno Dekhyon Rat.
(it is a leela of this descension, 5000 years ago, when young Radha Rani saw Krishn in a dream for the very first time. She relates Her dream to one of Her Gopis. She Says: ) O Sakhi, last night I had a dream.
Banshi vat tat-tarani-tanuja, haun ikali rahi jat.
I was walking alone on the bank of the river Yamuna near Vanshivat.
Auchak lakhyun eak tahan dhota, sundar Shyamal gat.
Suddenly, over there I saw a very beautiful bluish-complexioned boy.
Piyaro pat, kati kachani kache, mor mukut bal khat.
He was wearing a yellow silken shawl, a silken kachni around His waist, and a swaying peacock-feathered crown decorated His head.
Kar murli, gal gunjmal bhal, gati son hans lajat.
In His hand was a flute, around His neck was a dainty gunjmal chain, and His style of walking defied the glory of the gait of a hans.
Ati ras bhare nain ratnare, kajrare madmat.
His intoxicated, slightly pinkish eyes, which were naturally black, were overflowing with love.
Kati kinkini, pag payal sohat, man mohat muskat.
He had a golden waistband around His waist. He was wearing beautiful anklets, and He was fascinating the surroundings with His charming smile.
Kahan laun kah sakhi! Roop Madhuri, koti kam sakuchat.
O Sakhi! How could I explain the sweetness of His loving beauty that defies the beauty of
unlimited kamdevas.
Lakhtahi haun sakhi! Bhai bas takey, badi buree yah bat.
As soon as I saw Him I fell in love with Him and that’s not a good thing.
Yah ‘Kripalu’ kachu bhed alaukik, jag na hot as nat.
But there must be some Divine secret behind this happening, because such a sweet relationship doesn’t happen in a dream in this world.
